Rumor, sure. The coders at anet are so bored that they started coding rumors into gw.dat (and deleting them ... after a certain guru thread was getting too popular).

is it possible that the coders put it in for Utopia, which is now EotN and GW2, and than when the project was changed they didn't take it out right away? Could we expect this to be in GW2?

I disagree with your assessment. IMO, she's playing coy as usual, because either she isn't being told anything or isn't being allowed to confirm or deny anything. I think there IS some story there, but Anet isn't ready to talk about it. It could also be that they are ignoring it in hopes that the subject will simply die.

The quickest way to kill this topic is a clear "XMP was a canceled project that will never be implemented in the game." Since they, for whatever reason, don't want to say that, it's got to be either "Gaile doesn't know" or "Still a maybe."

But yeah, she either doesn't know or won't say. The XMP isn't a cancelled project, it's something they have been developing they someone chanced across because their .dat file has ZERO encryption, so they removed it to keep their big dumb secret...a secret.

Well, i'm not sure, but I think it was the way I worded the question.

I think I asked, "is the XMP still a rumor at the moment?".

Do you nay-sayers really think that it wouldn't have been denied by now if it wasn't being worked on?

It may never get developed to a point where we actually see it, but it is being worked on. If it wasn't, Gaile would have said so. She hasn't denied it because she's been caught denying things in the past that she was incorrect on and her credibility is on thin ice as a result. A-Net doesn't want to see her take another shot over this, so the official comment is basically "no comment."

I'd trade every forthcoming festival, third year mini's and new weapon skins for the XMP. Something of substance beats tat, IMO.

Not all projects make it into the game though.

But given the fact that it is (or was?) already in the GW.DAT, maybe we can expect a "surprise" for GW's 3rd birthday.

The trade system is the absolutely worst aspect of this game. Knowing they were releasing a tremendous amount of skins over but time not including a workable trade system was a huge mistake. Should have been put in before beta release and waiting three years is a joke.
